Re: Windows 10 and digimode programs
Be patient, you may initially be disappointed with Win-10's performance. For the first few days of intensive use, let Win-10 find things you were using before and allow it to populate the accelerator areas in the registry, so that with ultimate use you'll find things should speed up a huge amount. T...

Pity I missed eye-balling with VK6JQ Bill Webber while I was up in Broome at Willie Creek Jul-2013 thru Jul-2014 and also at a B&B Nov-2015 thru Feb-2016. I would've loved to personally greet him and congratulate him on his 6M DXCC achievements. I guess I should've written to his PO Box number. ...

'Ring-of-Fire' vTEC heating effect
'Ring-of-Fire' vTEC heating effect Back on 27-Apr-2015, I created a text file note on this subject (purely as a passing observation): 'Ring-of-Fire' below crust transferring an increasing heating effect on TEC as it travels over Pacific Ocean (when compared to other zones of the world). Now, I seem...

Hi Roger VK2ZRH, very illuminating and educational post, as per usual. (And Andy VK3OE, I knew I'd leave something amiss and not covered it all - thanks for the nEs and keep the digi-modes going). My 6M VHF-oriented post was devised to inspire individuals to maintain interest in 6M DX propagation, r...

Waterproofing coax and antenna connections with self-amalgamating or self-fusing silicone tape . Re: CI-V jack on ic7000 & ic706, what plug?
Hi Nev,
I've used both, but I did find that the MonoTS plugs always seemed a more consistent connection than the StereoRTS 3.5 mm plugs. Just use the tip for your CAT data and ignore the sleeve.
Trouble is that sourcing the Mono plugs, I think is getting harder.

Re: Co-Ax Cable strippers from China
I found that the Coax strippers from China were great, except for one flaw that I discovered. The knurled brass threaded part that takes the 'adjustment' allen key, that's supposed to be embedded and locked in place in the plastic housing, becomes dislodged and as you wind the allen key about, if yo...

If anyone has a Tigertronics SignaLink USB that surplus to their/your needs, I'd appreciate a PM or reply as my Digi-modes interface is a bit of a hashup that I tried with a Bluetooth CAT interface, that's missing the MIC input part and so I'm placing the IC-7000 handset-MIC over the laptop speaker ...
