Re: VKSpotter.com moving server on 23 Dec 2020

VKSpotter is back up on a new server. It may take up to 24Hrs for the DNS to propagate to your place.

You will definitely need to use CTRL+F5 or clear your browser/phone cache before you can see the new site.

Re: Converted CH0 six meter amplifiers 24 volts Melbourne TV broadcast system

Not a problem Mike,
Couple of things:
They are 28v and not 24v.
You can't legally run more than 120w pY on digital :-)

Re: Antennas for 3.4 GHz

Hi Haydan,
Not sure what you mean about " middle of the N connector"?
Do you mean from the end of the little flange that pokes into the can or the inside of the can to the tip?

Re: Antennas for 3.4 GHz

Haydan,
For the probe length on your cantenna, did you measure from the inside of the can to the tip or the top of the N inner connector that pokes into the can slightly?

Just playiong with making one at the moment.

Is this a personal beacon?
Will it have a VK4R-- callsign?

Re: Repeaters & Callsigns

Hi Mark, They are actually the same repeater. I will tell you the story when I next see you :-) Anyway, I have added this new repeater to the VKSpotter repeater list. Anyone can now add/edit repeaters and beacons on VKSpotter. https://vkspotter.com/?action=repeaters https://vkspotter.com/?action=bea...

Re: 23-on-23 + MAD: Sunday February 23, 2020

The Wyong Field Day occurs on the 23rd in VK2 so probably not a lot of MAD activity from here.

There will certainly be activity from the Western Sydney group from 8 till 9PM on the 23rd.

See you there. (Wyong and 23cm)

Re: Repeaters & Callsigns

Hi Mark,
Interesting.
VK2RNG is not listed in the ACMA database.

I can hear it at 5/3 on 147.3
Input 147.9 no CTCSS required

Hi Matt,
No, that was a fake spot just to get you interested :-)

Actually, a "feature" on VKSpotter when no QRA square is entered.
Need to get the damn human bean who coded that to fix it :-)
