Tnx to all participants especially those who went portable a very good effort which made the day. Luckily wx wise Sunday was a huge contrast to Saturday the scheduled day for May`s MAD. Preferred day for that weekend is SUNDAY.

Some good activity last night worked on 23 cm were VK4ADM, VK4GU, VK4EA, VK4LHD/p, VK4MJF, VK4MIL, VK4CZ, VK4KAY, VK4NA & VK4AMG all with strong signals. Missed was VK4DDG & nothing heard either way with VK2MAX.

There is a new 23 cm beacon located at Warwick airfield QG51XU VK4UA on 1296.464 MHz. Its running 400 mw less cable losses to a horizontally polarised slot antenna with an EIRP of 1.5 watts. I have been receiving it [QG62OM, 145 km] up to S3 other times in the noise so from Brisbane its good DX. 73,...

Some good activity last night on 1296 MHz worked were VK4CZ, VK4MJF, VK4MIL, VK4DH, VK2MAX & VK2VL. Given the present circumstances why don`t we do this more frequently than once a month e.g. weekends?

Just one other station [VK4CZ] on for last nights 23/23 which has been virtually the norm all year in SEQ.
