Re: TET-EMTRON TEV-1 Vertical?
hey Pete You still need ground radials and the bandwidth is pretty narrow on 80M - Much more expensive would be something like the Gap Voyager https://www.strictlyham.com.au/gap-voyager-dx#.XtoTGzozbIU OR even the Rippletech TZ-3VL ANTENNA DESCRIPTION The TZ-V-3L is a tri-band trapped vertical anten...

Re: WIA Contest Champion and the Ross Hull Contest
Spot on Adam Nothing more to add than to what we have in the past - My suggestion is to introduce another VHF UHF Day- 4 in all -Or perhaps use the existing John Moyle VHF UHF categories - and give the Ross Hull Trophy to the winner of the points score as per the Contest Champion. 100 points for 1st...

WIA Contest Champion and the Ross Hull Contest
WIA Contest Champion and the Ross Hull
Since the start, the WIA Contest Champion has catered for the Ross Hull Contest - the Ross Hull regularly only has 10 and less contesters enter - Should the Ross Hull be deleted as a contest from the contest champion scoring criteria?

Re: FT8 FT4 Contest Mode
Thanks Peter,
Yes that was what I was alluding to, in that, the closest I could find was the EU R2 Mode and that gave the reports as per FD condition and moving frequency stopped the errors resulting from unexpected exchanges from operators running normal FT8 .

FT8 FT4 Contest Mode
Over the contest weekend VHF UHF we had pretty tough conditions in VK4 but we did have a good score from VK4WIS. With no options we thought why not give 6m FT8 a try for Contest exchanges, we reset the FT8 software to R2 exchange as it fitted with the VHF UHF FD exchange - signal report, 6 character...

Re: I wonder what ACMA plans with 56-70MHz?
So let me paraphrase this Sir Humphrey. You did nothing. An answer so reminiscent of the old series " It's clear that the Committee has agreed that your new policy is really an excellent plan. But in view of some of the doubts being expressed, may I propose that I recall that after careful cons...

Re: I wonder what ACMA plans with 56-70MHz?
From 70.050 to 70.150 Australia wide there are only 2 allocations and they are both in North Queensland. Both parties were asked by me whether the would move and they confirmed in writing that they would move. This detail was forwarded to the WIA Board several months ago. This would allow the creati...

Get off Social Media_Radio-Active Weekend
The 19th and 20th March has a great event on the Australian Ham Radio Calender - The John Moyle Memorial Field Day. It is time to find the power Button on the radio and turn it to the ON position; skilled and more fortunate operators may have more than one radio and can then exhibit dexterity by tur...
