Re: 2013 Spring Field Day - 23/24 November

Hi All "Scattered #@!*&^% showers, my ass!" - Noah, 4314 BC My FD excursion was rather disappointing to say the least. I was enjoying my 39th contact for the afternoon and things were going fairly well weather wise too. However, a severe local storm suddenly arrived at around 0340 UTC....

[Quote] In anycase, I sold my 23cm yagi to Gavin VK3HY, I believe he still uses it for field days, it would be interesting to see what SWR he is getting from it now and if he has touched the driven element at all, perhaps a photo of it if its still has it. Hi Leigh As Leigh mentioned, I purchased hi...

Hi Ho fellow FD operators.

Unfortunately, I have a commitment that clashes with Saturday FD activity but will struggle out of the cot early Sunday morning and head to a high spot near Lorne for a few hours. Will have 50-1296MHz and 10GHz.

Re: Learning CW - your thoughts on best method requested.

Hello VK2TJF Good to read of your interest in CW. Here are some tips that I found useful a long time ago. Learn the code thoroughly first, including numbers and commonly used punctuation. Read the front page of a newspaper in CW (pick a paper that has big pictures if you are lazy). Just read it out ...

Re: Massive 144MHz Es Opening

Happy New Year Lots of 144MHz QSOs ranging from Nthn NSW to Charters Towers in FNQ. This was the longest 144MHz Es opening I have experienced. I managed to add two new Grid Squares bringing my modest tally up to 52. I reckon QSO of the day might go to Perrin VK3XPT who worked 4FNQ at Charters Towers...
