Re: New from Analog the ADF4371 62Mhz - 32Ghz Synthesizer

Theres alot of new MW chips from the like of Skyworks, Analog, who bought Hittite. I used the MAX2870 35-6GHz in my HB sig generator. Works well. Theres now units to 14GHz. I will be looking at using one to 'stich up' a 10GHz transverter of some sort. Thinking of replacing the DRO in a 10G satellite...

Re: MAD - Sunday March 24, 2019

Hi All, I would agree with the lack of start time or times in general that stations will be on 'site'. Maybe its not that simple as some of us have a short window time frame, as in myself :eh: sometimes. In general last Sunday was quite successful for me to run my 23/13cm gear and also 9cm transvert...

Aliexpress is better than ebay. If you tell Ali it dont work they will refund you. They dont like bad suppliers. Trouble is theres China suppliers that range from -10 to +10 in quality.

My vote goes to 3398. I have synth LO so and my filter will adjust. 3400 - 2 MHz isnt far.

Re: The 3.4 GHz amateur band - it's future ?

3395+ X MHz is fine here. With my gear. Im not sure how the ACMA will get along in WARC with the stir going on from the C Band satellite operators. They are not happy with any proposal to put LTE in 3.4 to 4.2GHz. Who pays? Satellite operators challenge mobiles’ use of C-band, http://www.itu.int/itu...

Re: 2.4 GHz power amplifiers using WLAN 'boosters'

Successfully used on here with about 20mW drive to around 1W (29dBm) ish. Have to watch stability if the unit (amp PCB) is remounted. Shouldnt be problem in original case. I was given some old DSE units that were supposed to be faulty, turned out the RF switches didnt operate properly, the amps are ...

5760.44 copied from inside car at elevated road about 5km from Murrarie, not LOS.
All others (3 I can hear) copied and decoded on JT4 in the garage of VK4AQF.
Will look forward to seeing 3400 running..well lets hope.

Re: The 3.4 GHz amateur band - it's future ?

3.4-4.2 GHz is international C-Band satellite DOWN link for anybody that knows about satellite TV. Its NOT owned by the ACMA Australia or any other entity, ITU international band. Try telling that to Intelsat. Im not sure what the ACMA has in mind to 'sell' it off to! Aliens? It is shared with Amate...

Well worth a try here. Im used to the distance scoring system in ZL where the points are based on band and distance, to encourage higher bands of course :D . Merits for both systems but good to test it under VK conditions!

My feeling is that their DE/D1 design is out somewhat. Match by altering the DE length or some method (depends on type here maybe harder to change) other is alter D1 spacing which has most effect usually. Fingernails noted. Im also sure my finger is the perfect tuning toll for frequencies above 1000...
