Re: FreeDV on Thursday!!

Sounds like a great idea to boost FreeDV interest in VK! It will be great to see how many stations participate! (Unfortunately it is too early for this poor pleb that has to work on a week night (5.30pm ACST I'm still stuck in traffic)). Also don't forget you can listen in and call back to the WIA F...

Re: Horus Balloon Launch 26-Jan for International Space Uni

There was an item on ABC SA news about the launch tonight. AREG was not even mentioned. Well done guys (the launch etc, not the news item). Terry, unfortunately it is very hard to control what the media says and how they spin things. The main thing however was that it was a success, and may open so...

Re: Running costs VK3RRU

One concept for beacons I recently have started thinking about was finding ways to have beacons receive and report what they are hearing as well as transmit - so that you can actually automatically map band openings and times and report it back on the web. This would be in addition of course to home...

Re: Repeater application process

My advice to anyone entertaining the idea of establishing a new repeater, is that you should complete and submit your application as the very first step. Then go about sourcing your equipment, parts, etc and carry out some limited testing and prepare for final site installation. Don't first spend t...

Complete 4 x TAE units set and assessed by Trainsafe (WIA RTO) which is run by Fed Swainston. It's done via email, the exercises are not difficult, and if you have any p...
