Re: 3.4 GHz Transverter Conversion (3.5 GHz WiFi transceiver
Receiving my test beacon I get a S9 signal when I first power up the panel. Once I have transmitter once , even just a short PTT, the signal goes down to S8. If I cycle the power it goes back up to S9. Any ideas?

Stefan,
Absolutely you can use FM. The more people we get on uWaves the better.
There is also the VHF/UHF field day this weekend.
You are welcome to join me if I go portable - yet to be decided -. I normally go to Clear Mountain lookout.
Email me at VK4KJJ at WIA.ORG.AU

From the AMSAT UK site.
"Measurements made by Alan Biddle WA4SCA indicate the downlink is consistently 1.400 kHz low at 145.9786 MHz. Reports indicate the uplink may be 10 kHz low of nominal frequency – 435.170 MHz."

Very strong carrier on 145.8 on last pass but no modulation. It did allow me to check my Doppler corrections, so all was not waisted.

Re: Beacon Database changes
Dave, At my suggestion Adam has already included an option for slight frequency offsets for Digital modes called "Zero DF offset". For example VK4RBB on 432.440 you need to set your dial 1230 Hz low to get zero DF on JT4. But you are right a similar idea for CW beacons would be good. Geoff...

Re: 23-on-23 May 23, 2015.... and 2.4GHz plus activation?
I had a good day, 3 contacts on 10 GHz and 6 on 1296. New PA on 1296 and 10 GHz seemed to work OK. I initially set up on the western side of Mt Mee at Somerset Lookout then moved to the East to Sellin Rd.
Looking forward to next microwave activity, 73 Geoff

After consulting some maps I am going to try a new site (for me) at Kluvers Lookout in D'Aguilar Range west of Dayboro. I will be operational on 2m, 1296 and 10 Ghz.

Re: VK4RBB - Brisbane beacons back on air
You may be aware the VK4RBB beacon has a "feature" when very occasionally there is no signal for a whole minute. To try to rectify this, a modification was made to the beacon this afternoon. Please report here if you notice the beacon is still missing minutes occasionally. If you do notice...

Adam,
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. For the DF offset you need an extra digit so that you can enter -1230 for example.

Re: Beacon Database changes
Adam, Your proposed implementation of a JT mode offset looks good. The zero DF offset needs a bit of a defination. I propose this----> It is the amount below the actual frequency you have to put your dial to get a report of zero Hertz for the DF value on the JT screen. So for VK4RBB that is on 432.4...

Re: Beacon Database changes
Adam, One additional thing to consider is the dial frequency you need to get zero DF on the JT4 screen. The way the VK4RBB beacon has been implemented there is a small frequency offset that you might not expect. If this offset is published it might be useful to folks particularly DX stations who are...
