Re: Icom IC-9700 users topic
Running 2M WSPR after upgrading to firmware 1.10. Checking with other GPS locked stations, and my Rx is spot on but my Tx is 1 Hz high, and zero drift. Sync-lock on and 10 Mhz GPS in. Also with the firmware update I needed to update to the latest CS-9700 to continue programming Compared to the 910, ...

I have a pair of these unmolested boards tucked away somewhere, purchased off Ebay.
I will never use them, so make me an offer. Grab some spares while you can.

Hi Ben, Rare gridsquare, hope you can survive the summer heat! Inland tropo propagation is rare, compared to the coastal stuff. Just look at the Hephurn charts. If you can monitor Adelaide beacons or repeaters and alert us via the Logger when conditions are good, then you have a good chance of getti...

Re: Why WSPR is so good
I have been spotting VK6 beacons on 2M for many years. I don't expect these spots to translate into voice contacts, due to lack of operators, the time difference etc. I have more recently run WSPR across to VK6DZ on 2M. I don't expect these spots to translate into voice contacts. The beacon spots go...

Re: 6m WSPR Monthly World Ranking
What a great turnout with over fifty stations transmitting. For the record my antenna is a horizontal dipole fixed on the side of the tower at the ten metre level, listening east and west, to null out the local beacon on Mt Lofty 4kl to my north. Without the distraction of chasing Dx, WSPR can run e...

Greetings part time hill dwellers!
Now that distance is a factor again I plan to take part in the contest as a home station, but only on 2 & 70.
Will have FM for the locals and SSB for the DX.
Please point your beams at Adelaide and see if we can do some business.
Cheers

It's up and I can hear the RTTY by ear, but speed shift etc seems to be a in house secret.

On my ringo the repeater has dropped from S8 down to S2 and a lot more power is needed to get in.

Re: PS-16 PICO balloon MELBOURNE-ADELAIDE
Decoded out to about 460km. Amazing considering the flea power Tx. This is a horrible part of our band with lots of local noises that come and go. For the record todays Rx system was a Diamond X200 vertical through 140 feet of LDF5-50 into my Icom 821H with no preamp.

Re: DAB radio in VK
In Adelaide all the DAB+ radio stations that I receive share just two frequencies- 204.640 and 206.352 mhz. These same frequencies may be repeated in other capitol cities, so DXing from one capitol to another is not possible. DAB+ is a great way to to listen to music from those old AM stations. Chee...

Re: 23cm station help please
Frequency errors are magnified at 1296. I have worked stations who were more than 10k off frequency. You could be off frequency with a new setup. Try tuning at least 10k either side of where you think your local beacon should be.

Re: VK6LD/p at Albany awaiting 2M & 70cms across the Bight!
Great news Rob. I have just got another tower up so I will be able to keep the old "system B" K1FO 13 el beaming west most of the time. If you call CQ around the hour or half hour when your on air, it makes things less random. Looking forward to putting the remote station to the test. Chee...

Re: WSPR on 432MHz
Greetings all, Doing some tests at the moment. My Icom 475H with Icom Hi stab osc is 1Khz low and still drifting after 3 hrs warm up. As the 70cm band is not catered for in the software, when looking for spots uploaded select band "ALL", and be quick before it scrolls off the screen. Iain ...

GPS locking to 10Mhz
Greetings,
I am now ready to GPS lock my radio for more stable WSPR operations.
To save re-inventing the wheel I would like to hear how others have done it.
Please tell all, from what model GPS rx to the 10mhz input on the back of my radio.
Thanks
Phil

2M Portable from Roxby Downs
Greetings, I will be going to Roxby Downs this week to do some Landlord maintanance work. I am taking a 20 foot pole, my 6el YU7EF portable antenna and the 910H. The plan is to lash the pole to the pergola and point the beam south east. I hope to be up on air tuesday night until friday morning this ...

Re: REPUTABLE solar panel/system suppliers/installers VK5?
There are two ways of looking at the way the angle is measured and people here are getting confused. A rough guide is to elevate the panels at roughly your latitude,so for Adelaide about 35 deg. This means the panels are 35 deg up from the horizontal. There are plenty of online modelling tools where...
