Yes, I've had this problem for years. Doesn't happen on all HF bands but as far as I can remember it happens on 10m and 40m, possibly others. ADSL sync drops out, then reconnects. I'm wanting to use a PC headset which has an electret mic on my FT-857D.

Anyone here home-brewed their own headset mic adapter? There are several circuits online but they all vary with different resistor and capacitor values. Hoping someone here can speak from experience.

Your main issue is that FLs aren't allowed to service their transmitters (under the LCD) even if they have the appropriate skills. Are you sure this is correct?
