240 euro (~$390aud) is a bit of a jump compared to the 23/13cm versions.

I'm guessing things get more complex and part cost more as wavelength gets smaller!

The only two things that comes to mind is maybe another device was using that com port when trying to get wsjt working, or maybe wsjt doesn't see com ports above a certain value - I see your 9700 is on 30/31. Reading what Mark (MiniKits) has said, it sounds like there isn't any electrical connection (wires/jumpers) to any part of the circuit board on the 9700. The coupler is just soldered to the top of the txco can. How would that actually 'lock' the txco if the coupler isn't electrically connected? Pass...
