What a difference the board makes! My breadboard projects always look like a messed up birds nest with wires going everywhere.
The new board you've made makes a huge difference!

Another great video, thanks Adam.
I'm eagerly finishing up my current project so I can start working on the K3NG controller/Nextion display project

Re: Yaesu G-5500 - No Down Elevation
Thanks for sharing, Adam.
I've been meaning to give my g-5500 rotators a good internal clean and check over, bit it's such a process to get the antenna array down.

What a great project Adam, loving the touch screen.
The Teensy's are a nice little micro, and pack a punch for what they are.
You've inspired me to move this to the top of the projects list.

Tigo TS-4 Optimisers First Hand Advice?
Hi all, Talking home (grid tie) solar electricity setups. We have a vertical band of shade that moves across our panels through the day which is reducing the string voltage arcoss the whole array. Google searches revealed that optimisers installed to each panel will help, and essentially bypass the ...

Re: Satellites workable from VK? Antennas?
G'day Adam, Compared to a few years ago, there are a heap of sats that can be worked from VK these days. I have the following sats programmed into SATPC32 (there could be more). AO-07 FO-29 SO-50 (FM) XW-2A XW-2B XW-2C XW-2F AO-92 Also include the ISS on that list, they seem to be doing more SSTV/AP...

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Next update for the 23cm PA - it's all constructed and ready for the smoke test. Next task is to apply power and adjust the bias voltages for each FET, then adjust the input variable caps for lowest return loss (?) on the input, then tune each FET (by moving a cap on the output line) indiviually for...

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Hi Jayson, Where did you get the tin box and copper heat spreader from ? I have a couple of Henning's boards and the parts but have yet to acquire the spreader etc. thanks Tim G'day Tim, The tin box came with the boards directly from Henning (DF9IC), while the copper heat spreader is from G4dbn. I ...

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Another project, but this one is finished! I got sick of three (13.8/28/49v) PSU's floating around the shack so I boxed them up into a 3RU rack case. Space was very tight, the 13.8 smps is a Meanwell rated at about 30amps, while the 28 and 48v smps are powerwell(?) rated at 1100w each!. Strangely en...

Re: What's on your Workbench?
As many Amateurs do, I have a few projects on the go at the moment. The one taking up most my free time is a 250w 1296MHz PA, DF9IC design. Current progress is below with most parts now populated, just the important ones to go - the FETS, which need to be soldered directly to the copper heat spreade...

Re: Icom IC-9700 users topic
Looks to be much better.
I was contemplating using the minikits version with bluetac to hold it in place rather than soldering it.
It's not on Leo's web site, so not sure if it can be purchased yet?

240 euro (~$390aud) is a bit of a jump compared to the 23/13cm versions.
I'm guessing things get more complex and part cost more as wavelength gets smaller!
They do look like a nice unit, perfect for field day ops.

Re: Satellite ops with IC-9700
Hi Adam, It can be a bit tricky. What I usually do is if the sat is free (no qso's in progress) I'll start transmitting and tune my rx to hear the downlink. BUT, if I find a qso is already under way I'll tune the other stations in, then when I tx I'll adjust my tx so it's on freq to them so we're al...

Holly molly they are small.
I find keeping away from coffee for the day keeps the hand nice and steady too
I didn't realise that you were hand assembling them, Adam!

G'day Peter,
I can confirm it's strictly 144-148MHz.
I was hoping that it would go down low enough to monitor the GRAVES radar, but sadly it won't.
Regards
Jayson

Re: WSJT USB Audio Sources???
That is very strange. Is this on windows or linux? The only two things that comes to mind is maybe another device was using that com port when trying to get wsjt working, or maybe wsjt doesn't see com ports above a certain value - I see your 9700 is on 30/31. Would it be too much of a pain to reshuf...

Re: Icom IC-9700 users topic
Reading what Mark (MiniKits) has said, it sounds like there isn't any electrical connection (wires/jumpers) to any part of the circuit board on the 9700. The coupler is just soldered to the top of the txco can. How would that actually 'lock' the txco if the coupler isn't electrically connected? Pass...
