Re: DSE D-3800 P/S

When you fix your supply I would suggest that you place a resistor (SOT) across TR7 so that the fan runs very slow all the time.
This stops the annoying fan from coming on at full speed when you only have a receiver running.

Re: DSE D-3800 P/S

After you fix your supply you need to put something like this circuit between the power supply and the rig .
I only use the over voltage part of this circuit on my D-3800 supply.

Version 2.0 for the Pi can be downloaded from

https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html

Look for the Raspbian Stretch ARMv6 file .

Re: My Pi Journey

Hi Peter
Thank you for your tutorial on using a Pi,it was very easy to set up.
Now using a Pi3B for WSJT-X and it works great with my IC7610 .
I have also loaded Fldigi and have got it working but have yet to try it out on air.

Re: MinDist TopOfLongWire to 5GhzEthernetLnk AtopApex75ftMas

Hi Danny If this is only the high end of a long wire a 2m length of nylon rope with an insulator should be fine. If you are going to interfere with the Ethernet link it will not be because it is on 5gig but what the down converted frequency is. If it is 100Mhz less chance of a problem. If 10Mhz poss...

For some stupid reason you seem to think that every amateur has a computer and is happy if his computer generated call sign is heard. Also all amateurs do not work, some are self funded retirees like me and others just plain retired. Most are social animals and not ignorant like you seem to be. Your...

Re: Pseudo-Nally Tower tilt-over bases

Hi Doug
Have you considered a seesaw light pole.
It is the best tower I have ever had , no winch cables no guy wires and the grand-kids cant climb it.
Look up my details on QRZ.

Codan Pa Circuit Diagram

Hi All In a fit of madness at yesterdays Hamfest I purchased a Codan HF PA assembly with 08-01286 12v stamped on metal mounting bracket. It has Codan 07-00428 iss.5 on the Circuit Board and has a pair of MRF421 in the finals so I assume it is good for at least 100W. I was thinking of using it in my ...

Re: Which SDR do you use and why?

Hi Matt Well I must say that the Flex 1500 can be used as a great driver for transverters . After all it is only a 5 watt transceiver and it is very easy to reduce 5 watts down to the required levels with a few resistors (it also does has low level out as well). Along with the fact that you can conn...

Re: Which SDR do you use and why?

Hi Everyone Well I have a Flex 1500 with a 100w amplifier after it and I have worked the world with it. Bang for Buck it is the best value for money out there. With the latest version of Power SDR V 2.3.5 it is a great receiver and is as good as if not better than my FT2000 it has great receive audi...

Re: 33kV underground going past my QTH. QRM?

I live in a suburb with all underground power and it is that quiet than I can hear the noise level increase to S1 or S2 when i turn my beams towards the nearest overhead power lines that are over 500m away . My normal power line noise is nil all I can hear are plasma TV and solar panel noise. Underg...
