We only have two observers in the southern hemisphere, Andrew K and Wayne VK2XN.

JT65-HF-HB9HQX-Edition
I've just downloaded the sourcecode and there's no way to compile on Linux.
So, there's absolutely no way to get it going on a Raspberry Pi.

Re: JT65-HF
Standardize, it's the protocol we standardize on, not the software. Please correct me, if I'm wrong, but I didn't find anything for JT65 on Linux other than WSJT and WSJT-X, so I compiled up JT65-HF, results here: http://www.unixservice.com.au/hamradio/digital/jt65-hf/index.html I only use Linux mac...

Sourceforge has only the Windows EXE file:
But a little digging has Ver 1.0.9 DEBUG saucecode.
Had a little program execution problem, in "// Check dll version".
Running on Fedora 21 x86_64.
Cannot choose Audio Device, uses "Default" - this must be fixed.
So far, so good.

There is no action on 52MHz, we SSBers are all on 50MHz
Beacons, FSK, WSPR, JT65 etc..
On 52MHz, we still have 52.525MHz simplex and 6m repeaters.
Put up a 5/8 vertical.

Our BMARC club has 4x 100W 28V Pager units, 148.025MHz
Easy to work with RF PA module, rest is junk.
Location Glenbrook clubhouse, in 19" racks 1m high.
Actual unit is 4RU.
Any interest?

Re: Suggest a transceiver for Foundation Call
Spent the $850, it will be worth it. http://www.vkclassifieds.net.au Do not limit yourself with a non-digital tuned radio such as the TS-120s from 1977. A digital display is no indication here (Many early Icoms do the display badly). Stability is needed for digital modes. The FT-840 in my collection...

The YU3UMV 23cm and 13cm transverters, a PDF of the VHF Communications article.

Sourced in South Australia in about 1988.

Re: SG Lab 23cm Transverter - Anyone heard of them?
I have the VK5 23cm transverter 3/4 built, all RF working. 1W out, gave up and bought a s/h IC-910H with 23cm. (way to go with a spare $2000) Much more suitable for field day use. From Emu Plains here, can just make the Chatswood or Dural repeaters on 23cm, if I put my phased array vertical. This lo...

A straight forward module with Motorola transistors in the output.
The p/s, signal generating and modulation section is junk.
At the clubhouse, they are clutter.
Anybody interested?

Re: Flat strip driven elements on 6m.
I have a 1m piece of 19mm x 6mm strip or bar, excellent, but HEAVY, HEAVY. 19mm x 3mm would be too bendy in lengths of 1.5m (6m 1/4 wave). The 20 x 10 angle 1.5mm thick for floor tile edging was very tempting for 6m use. Fly screen edging, a flat box section, is also tempting. If you have the 6mm, w...

Well, I built the adjustable loops as per http://www.cactus-intertie.org/LA/tec_not6.pdf (above) and they work, a treat. My loops are quite close, only 1mm apart. 5MHz pass-notch - yes. I made the capacitive wire probes pictured in tec_not6.pdf but could not get anything useful better than 20MHz pas...
