Re: Yagi Insulators - Suggestions ?
Looks like Hayden forgot,
remove rubber washer off roof screw and fit a flat steel washer, this stops the roof screw from forcing into the clamp.
The best angle iron for making the boom to mount is old bed angle, its spring steel and very light
good luck

Re: Video: Omega tower demolished in Gippsland
A golden opportunity gone to waste.
It could have been hired out to jumpers(prepaid) as they are rapidly running running out of places.
All it needed was a concrete pad to break the fall of those that chose not to wear a parachute.

Re: Stauff clamps...
Hi again,
yep that sounds right CC2 then the size
I use from 6mm though to 16mm on square booms, very easy construction.
I have a wrecked 6M 11 eleven element on a 20M boom(top guy broke) but none of the 16mm clamps are damaged, some of the elements are tied in knots.

Re: Stauff clamps...
Hi Steve,
They are blue ,been using them for years with no probs, they sometimes try to sell you a steel plate which you dont need.
I think the part number is CC10 for 10mm ones,CC12 for 12mm ones etc
I'll have a look for a docket to verify that and let you know
cheers

Re: 160m 1/4 wave vertical
Hi Leigh,
I've been watching here with interest as I also want to build a full quarter wave for 160m.
Its hard to find anything as it seems most are happy with some sort of comprimise.
If I come across anything I will post here.good luck
cheers

Re: Your callsign must reflect your address
Now the WIA getting the blame?
A amateur living in vk2 and using a vk1 callsign gets dobbed in to acma.
Its very simple,if you reside and have postal address as vk2 then you should have a vk2 callsign.
What has that got to do with the WIA???
cheers

Hi John,
Antennas were built of the YU7EF,Pops website.24 element 70cms.They worked very well.
More info on G4CQM website about the coaxial diapoles.
Only built the two so far but very pleased with the performance.
