Re: Brisbane/SEQ Microwave Activity Day in May 2012
An interesting morning. John VK4TJ and I set up at Gormans Gap QG52xi, and worked most everyone on 1296, moved to 2.4Ghz and worked pretty much the same ..... Unfortunately 3.4 Ghz we weren't so lucky...Doug VK4ADC copied us very weakly, and we did not hear anyone.. :( Tests later that day seems to ...

FL7000
G'day all I have an FL7000 with two of the four output devices blown. The devices, Toshiba 2SC2652, are no longer made, although an equivalent from Motorola is available. Problem is I would have to replace all 4 devices to keep the monitoring electronics happy. An alternative is to buy a couple of C...

Re: Confessions of an IC-9100 Owner
The main problem was freq drift, noticeable on 1296 digi modes, It would drift down 20Hz, then up 80Hz in a 50 second sequence, totally undecodable at the other end. A known issue apparently in the EME community. I know of several others with the same problem. Poor spectral purity and 'noisy' rx hav...

HNY all......
VK3 12
VK5 5
FK8 2
other VK3 & 5's heard.
2 new grid squares.....
In amongst it all, worked JA1WQF on 1296 EME, and monitored K7XQ and VK2AMS trying to QSO.
A pretty good finale for 2011!

Re: LMR600 connectors
Many tnx for the replies, I have ordered some from ebay, $8 each. (Crimp ones were $5, but dont have the dies for the crimper) First search of ebay several days ago didn't turn up anything, hence the post........ The LMR600 will find its way onto the 1296 terrestrial setup, and maybe the 144 yagi's....

LMR600 connectors
GD all,
A while ago I was give a couple of 30M lengths of LMR600, with reverse TNC connectors. Where can I buy N types to suit without having to sell my first born?
Cheers

Re: EME on both 10 ghz and 23 cms
Hi Keith
I am only QRV 23cm, here a 3.6Mx dish, 150W PA behind the dish, septum, and a G4DDK preamp. You will have no problems on JT or CW...in fact I reckon 300W here would give me 'parity'.
GL with the project, look fwd to working my first VK6 soon.........

Re: Power Splitting/Combining
So if I have 4 identical yagi's/feedlines and feed each yagi with identical 400W Pa's,(with the input split from a common Tx) do I still comply with the regulations?

Why should I buy an IC9100 and not a TS2000X
Why buy an IC9100 for close to 5k (with 23cm) when a TS2000X is around 3k?
What will I get forthe extra 2k?
Comments please......

Re: Getting started on 23m EME
Hi Brett
I think Sam reckons a noise peak at 1100Mhz is abt right for low NF.....and your sun noise indicates you are pretty close....
I will be QRV tomorrow morning from 2100Z if yo need a signal....
