Very sad news. Harry was a constant presence on 2m. He will be sorely missed. RIP

I'm on the lookout for a 10w pa for the Climie 3cm beacon too. Power does not come cheap though.

Re: 10 GHz Home Station Help....
Would consider putting a dish up the mast here in Wellington. but with most of the NZ activity a long way north the chances of a qso are slim.

Re: New Zealand 53MHz repeaters?
Just a note to say there is a new repeater operational on 53.950MHz running 60 Watts into a base loaded vertical. The location is Mount Climie, Upper Hutt. RE78NU.
ZL2MHF the Climie 6M beacon is now permanently of air.

What level (dbm) iare you receiving the beacon at ? Are you getting any adc overload warnings ? and as a somebody on the hpsd...

Re: Which SDR do you use and why?
Strange, got a similar setup here. Hermes+Anan10 did not notice any issues on 6m when my local beacon 6km away was keying. Hi unknown, (you did not sign with a name), I would be interested to know what size and height antenna you use and if you know the power and freq of the beacon you made mention...

Re: Which SDR do you use and why?
11 Dec 2012 update. Tried to use my HERMES tonight on 6mx and find it is not happy with the the vk5rbv beacon (50.315) that is near me. I have over 100 different peaks of the beacon keying (including one on 50.110), which makes the panadapter next to useless for spotting activity. Anyone want to bu...

NZ 10GHz Mount Climie Beacon Proposal
I'm thinking of putting together a proposal to branch 63 to put a narrow band 10GHz beacon up on mount Climie.
As far as I am aware there are no operational 3cm beacons in NZ at all.
Thoughts / Comments ?

Re: Is the Wellington 3cm beacon on the air ??
Yes, had to retune the filter for that end of the band but my sig gen is audible there. I've got the same problem as vk2rr really not enough signals on the band to test against.

Re: Is the Wellington 3cm beacon on the air ??
Yes, had a chat with one of the trustee's and he could not confirm its status, only the fact that there is power to it. Its a gunnplexer so it could be way off frequency or simply dead.zl4plm wrote:assume you mean the 10250 fm beacon??

Re: Upgraded 5.7 & 10 GHz Tvtrs
Hi Simon, I've just been testing my 3cm db6nt transverter and was just about to drop you an email asking what you would recommend for improving the frequency stability. But you've pretty much answered the question. Was wondering if you knew of any designs pll around for locking the MHz local oscilla...
