I do concur with everyone else thoughts also. Thanks so much Adam. I too deactivated my FB account for maybe 12 months and true to word life became mine again LOL. It really did become the anti-social network however so many requests from amateurs to get back on I did but keeping very quiet. Now tha...

Re: 2016 Winter VHF/UHF Field Day
I didn't hear many Melbourne stations but gave a few numbers on 2 and 70 to 3KQ in Blackwood forest at 250km away. I'm too far for anyone on 1296 but had it running all weekend nonetheless.
Swung the beams to Canberra and made a few contacts, plus Wagga Wagga. Not a boo from Albury.

Listen out for us VK3KQ/p in QF22DM - we'll be the ones with chattering teeth in sub zero temperatures :wtf: . And if your friends with my old mate Ga...

EMDRC Hamfest Thanks
Thanks Andrew,
Very well written and correct.
The difference between receiving a proposal and "Oh are you guys coming to the hamfest because ,,,,,,,,,,,,," or "Why the hell aren't you coming? " makes a world of difference to management.

Re: IC-7300 - Software Defined Radio
Since I took over the Amateur Radio portfolio 4 years ago at Icom the pricing has been 100% on parity with all overseas markets. I negotiated heavily with Icom Japan to make this happen for Australian Hams as I was sick and tired of exactly the comments above. Take a look at the IC-7100, IC-5100A an...

Re: Ballarat 23cm Beacon VK3RMB off air
Thanks Ian.
Hopefully I'll be back on air as soon. Just waiting for a mast bracket for the rotator as I've moved into NE Victoria. Looking forward to hetting back on air.
I'm currently only using a Diamond F23 vertical.

Re: Network Time Windows 7 problems for JT65
Update every minute and you can never get a full 60 second sync. You should update every 30 minutes at most. That's of course if you're using that particular pc for radio, digi modes etc If you're using it for data management, that's a totally different matter, 1 minute updates are fine. Sent from m...

Re: Telemetry on 471mhz
Do an ACMA database search on the exact frequency and area. Do you live close to a golf course? They use a lot of telemetry for watering systems, typically the Toro and Rainbird systems. Pretty easy to track.
