Hi All
I have conducted some initial tests on a replacement IC-9700 and the results are essentially the same - that is about 20 Hz drift in a one minute transmission at 20 watts on 2 metres.
See attached Spectrum Lab plot.

Re: Identification of DC socket to get the correct plug
Thanks Ken
Owen Duffy, VK1OD, had the solution it was to look for "pluggable headers" on ebay and the right answer is at:

Identification of DC socket to get the correct plug
Hi All
I have a timenet unit that is designed to accurately lock your PC to GPS but it comes with what to me is an odd DC socket for the 12 volt supply. I have attached a photo and I wonder if anyone can identify the make and type so I can try and purchase the correct plug.

Re: Frequency of VK2RSY Beacon
Typo and correction the frequency should read 0.1 HZ below 144.420 not 144.20.

Frequency of VK2RSY Beacon
I have been monitoring what I think is this beacon which seems to be only 0.1 Hz low of 144.20. The signal is present most of the time in 5 mHz binwidth on Spectrum Lab. It is far too weak to see on JT65 and there is no way I can identify the beacon other than an accurate measure of QRG down to the ...

Re: 2m/70cm jt65 and other modes like cw
There might be a miss-understanding of my position. The World Wide standard which we follow in VK is JT65b for 2 metres and 70 cms. This allows for the drift which some stations suffer at VHF and UHF. At 1296 where drift can be greater the standard is JT65c. The reason I mentioned JT65a is that VK7F...

I went up Mt Wellington to QE37oc on 10 GHz only and was pleased to work VK3PY, VK3AMZ, VK3HY and VK3MQ.

Hi All
Depending on conditions (Hepburn) I will operate from either Mt Wellington or the North coast of Tasmania on 10 and 24 GHz - SSB and JT4f.

Re: VK3/VK5 Microwave Activity Day
Hi All
While I only worked one station there was some interesting propagation which seems to be due to pre-frontal ducting.
A detailed report is at the following URL

Hi All
i will be up on Mt Wellington at 42.742071 S and 147.225963 E from around 10:30 on 10 and 24 GHz. If anyone has digital if will run JT4F as it is a long way to anywhere.

Re: IC-910 70cm TX power spike ?
Hi Adam In my case I do use an IC-910-H on 144 MHz into a DB6NT transverter without any problems from the spike - but this may be because the DB6NT can absorb up to 5 watts continous with a big resistor and the short spike does not worry it. This may or may not be the case with other transverters. 7...

Hi Michael and all
Unfortunately I beam directly through Mt Wellington at 8 degrees elevation to the West so I can't be in the mix.

Re: Measuring TV Video Carrier Frequencies to 1 Hz Precision
One of the problems in checking frequency accuracy off NewCastle 5a to less than one Hz is that it does drift around. The drift seems to relate to termperature so I doubt it is now locked to Rubidium as it seemed to be 3 years ago. Over the last week I have measured it varying between 10.7 Hz and 10...
