One of mine?

When was the last time it displayed the correct date?
Yes, it's one of yours Adam with v2.2 installed.
Last correct date would have been prior to New Years day. Hadn't taken much notice until today.

VK4GHZ Thunderbolt display 2020 date error

My Thunderbolt tells me it's 33 December 2019 today. Wonder if others shows the same?

Tried a power cycle and survey, no change.
Is there a simple fix?

Re: VK5RBV to come back at Full steam

Hi Pete,
Thanks, I'll investigate further. I was looking at using just the 828 PA module. No other 828 board. Seems simple enough as 2 x RF, Vcc & Vcontrol connections.
I gather then your PA is on all the time, without keying?

..... Philips FM-828 E-Band radio so I could convert the P.A for use on the 50.456 beacon ..... Using the information listed here: http://www.unixservice.com.au/hamradio/radios/fm828/fm828e.html the P.A was first tested before conversion, then moved to 50 MHz. The exciter and receiver boards were s...

Re: VK5RBV to come back at Full steam

Hi Pete,

Nice work!

For info, the Simoco SRM9000 E0 uses the Mitsubishi RA30H0608M module. However they want a damn fortune for them. Last quote was $90 + GST and $20 postage :(
So if you can find a E0 somewhere :)

Re: Satellite ops with IC-9700

Hi Rick ..... I am trying to ascertain WHICH BAND is SELECTED (ie: WHITE not GREY) immediately before you go into transmit. Can you make a note of that please, and let me know. In Satellite mode, I've found you can PTT anytime as it's always the Sub band that transmits. The TX indicator is ON for t...

Re: Satellite ops with IC-9700

I use SatPC32 (via USB) to control the radio and antennas.
Normally, the Main (Top) band is RX and Sub (Bottom) band is TX. Set the RX to desired downlink frequency then tune the TX until you hear yourself on the downlink. From there just use RIT for fine tune to hear the other operator.

The writing on the page mentions 50 watt transceiver where all brochures previously call it a 100W on 144MHz, 75W on 430MHz and 10W on 1200MHz.
50W is for the JA market only. Everywhere else is 100W.

Today most stations on 6m FT8 appear to be on WSJT Version 2.0 I will no longer use earlier 75 bit versions, although I do hope that it's not too long before Igor and his team upgrade JTDX as it has a far better GUI in my opinion. 73 Andy VK6OX The sooner the better JTDX gets upgraded. Re: SMPS, which would you recomend?

Thanks Damien Myself and a few colleagues use the Manson SPA-8330, if you don't need the metered types. Quiet fan, only comes on when needed and switches off fairly quickly. I have two of them running things from LF to 3GHz and no noise detected. have been looking at this as a possible choice so wi...

The 13Mb version seems the most clearest. Still a tad difficult to make out all values.

Re: What's on your Workbench?

Unfortunately my plans for a precision reference came along too late for one of Adam's displays...he no longer makes/supplies them. I'll make do with with the PC-based monitoring pgms for now. There is a similar unit to Adam's available. Found it while searching for Thunderbolt parts on eBay. http:...

Re: RemoteRig with Kenwood TS2000

I use RemoteRig quite successfully with several Icom IC-706MkIIG's. However, this uses 2 RRC-1258 interfaces to connect head to body via the interwebs. The way I read what you're doing, you'll need to add a RRC-Micro PC-Client to the equation. This will enable HRD to control the TS-2000 as below: ht...
