My FT857d had low sensitivity. Maybe yours has same issue. common Fault. In IF stage, Plenty of info on youtube how to repair .
However I may be wrong as you're using ssb for WSPR , not AM, FM modes of course . But a thought?

Thanks Mark. I was thinking either the RF Sensor Unit or the Control PCB Assy. The Sensor Unit is passive. Not much in there . Maybe a damaged /leaky Ge Diode . I'l have a look . At least that Sensor is accessible. The Control PCB is a nightmare. Hi Hi.

I have a Yaesu which requires a part. I am unable to get a response back from RFrepairs in VK either via email or Mobile .

Is there a alternate Yaesu Spare Parts Supplier either in VK or overseas which is easily contactable and reliable .

I've bought several parts for my Icoms over the years...Always asked for the serial number...No support non Australian Models ..IE: No support for grey imports ..Need verification via the serial number.

Got one..Works well...Not expensive .

With all the RF Pollution Fog 3RMV is still hearing well ....Similar reports as 4TVL ...

FYI Gentlemen..Len VK2CBL WSPR Station is Solar Powered..Of course only 2watts RF if you don't mind real QRP.. ...Perhaps that's the way to go to avoid all the Electricity $$$$$$$$$... Cheers Lloyd .

I designed a LPA for 48-450 Mhz..Worked well enough..VSWR <1.3 all bands.
Twin boom..Using a LPA Cad program.
Only has approx 7.5 dbi gain.18el , 1.8m boom length.
Don't expect miracles with them.However it has a great for BW.
