In this video we take a look at performing a return loss sweep on a ‘Heliaxial24’ 2.4 GHz 6½ turn helix antenna from Circular Wireless.
Construction is first class, along with it’s first class 75 Euro price tag, but the results are rather disappointing.
You might expect a good return loss dip somewhere between 2400 – 2500 MHz, right?
But that wasn’t the case with this particular unit.
Return loss sweep is being performed by a SynthNV, a USB controlled signal generator/RF detector from Windfreak Technologies LLC. The SynthNV operates from 134 MHz – 4.4 GHz and is ideal for this type of measurement.
